MIT-CHUK Undergrauate Exchange Programme |
MIT-CUHK Undergraduate Exchange Program supports two CUHK engineering students to study at CSAIL (the Computer Science and Artificial intelligence Laboratory), MIT during the spring semester every year. CSAIL is the MIT partner in the Research Center and the largest lab at MIT. Successful applicants will take courses at MIT CSAIL, and credits from those courses can be converted into CUHK credits. This is an excellent opportunity for students to gain knowledge in their specialties at one of the top research labs in the world.

Eligibility
In order to qualify for the program, an applicant must: |
- Be a current 3rd year undergraduate engineering student.
- Have strong computer science background, preferably in the areas of theoretical computer science.
- Preferably have research experience.
- Have an outstanding academic record.
- Have TOEFL score, or students without TOEFL score must be fluent in speaking, reading and writing English.

Application
All interested engineering students are encouraged to submit the following application materials to the Chair of their Departments before the application deadline: |
- Completed application form
- Official CUHK Transcript
- Copy of academic reports (e.g. HKALE)
- Two recommendation letters, preferably from research supervisors or major subject instructors
- TOEFL score, if any
- A C.V or resume
- A statement of your academic and research interests, and what classes and research you might be interested in undertaking at CSAIL
- Other documents supporting your employment or research activities, if any

Selection Process
Selection is based on academic achievement, research experience and personal maturity of applicants. All applicants who meet the above criteria will have their applications reviewed by the Chairs of the Departments. The Chairs will make recommendation to the Steering Committee of the Research Center. All recommended applicants are invited for interview conducted by the CUHK members of the Steering Committee.

Financial Terms
A scholarship HK$60,000 will be awarded to the successful applicants to support their travel and living expenses during the course of the exchange program. |
Scholarship Recipients Responsibility
Each scholarship recipients must submit a report and do a presentation after completion of the exchange program. |
